From the Editor – November Edition
25th November, 2025Hello and Welcome to our final newsletter of 2025.
It’s been a busy & fulfilling year as we have welcomed new Beyond Self family members into the fold and continued to care for our long-term loyal family members. We thank you so much for continuing to trust us with the health and wellbeing of yourself and your nearest and dearest, and also for the many times you refer us to your family & friends who in turn seek us out to embark on their own wellness journey. We sincerely acknowledge the privilege it is for us to be included in this important aspect of your lives.
We had a few changes on the team this year, farewelling Olivia (Psychologist) who became a mum for the first time in June. We also said au revoir to Nat who has relocated with her family to Adelaide but is still very much in touch with us and continuing to be the graphics/artistic designer for our newsletters/flyers etc. (Thank goodness for that!!). Then in September we farewelled Sarah Burrows who has gone to work with young people – an area of passion for her.
In mid-December the lovely Batool who has looked after Saturday shifts so well for the last few years, will also depart. Batool is just finishing her Masters of Chiropractic and will be fully qualified to start practising as she joins a new clinic closer to home. Congratulations Batool – you will be missed.
We also say farewell to the wonderful Jo Callender who is finishing up on Wednesday December 17th. We are going to miss her spectacular craniosacral work and overall mastery of the human body.
And we also just want to let you know that Carla is taking an extended hiatus from massaging at Beyond Self from mid-January 2026 as she has the opportunity to continue honing her nursing skills in some very specialist areas which is very exciting. This is almost certainly just ‘adieu’ and not farewell and Carla may well be able to offer the odd day here and there and hopefully reappear regularly again in 2027.
Fear not though as we have this area of healthcare covered with another very lovely experienced and skilled practitioner in Bec Riddington joining us working Mon-Fri.
We were thrilled to finally score ourselves a brilliant Acupuncturist in Paul, in May, and he is such a welcome addition to our line-up of amazing practitioners.
Many of you have seen the lovely Megan on front desk as she kindly stepped in to cover holidays and/or sickness for the last few years. We are really happy to announce that Megan is now a permanent part of our efficient and friendly team on front desk.
We will have a new associate chiropractor in Izzy Henry joining us from February and she will hold the fort on front desk for a few weeks after Batool has left and before our new Saturday shift team member Laura joins us at the end of January. So, lots of exciting things to look forward to in 2026.
We will share more profile information of our new team members in the new year.
Inside the newsletter you will find some really great articles – one of them by our Naturopath/Nutritionist Sheena who takes a closer look at Ozempic and offers some really helpful insights and alternatives. Batool has also written an article for us on mouth breathing and how that affects us.
Our Christmas/New Year hours are included plus two great recipes for the festive season.
Wishing you all a healthy and happy end to the year and much joy as you celebrate Christmas & New Year.
Warmly,
Sarah & the Beyond Self Team
