Season of Growth
17th December, 2024by Justine Szalay, Women’s Coach
Have you noticed a shift in the energy around you recently? Maybe a lightening of your mood and mindset? It’s no coincidence—summer is here, and the changing seasons have a real impact on us. But why does this happen, and how can you make the most of it?
Summer is that time of year when everything feels lighter and full of potential. The longer days and warmer weather have a real impact on us. Studies show that sunlight boosts our serotonin, the hormone that helps us feel good and stay focused. With our brains more open to learning and forming new habits, this season is perfect for setting goals and making changes.
Take 5 minutes a day or set aside 30 minutes in the morning or evening to follow these simple steps and reflection questions to harness the natural momentum that comes with the change of season:
Get Quiet
Before diving into action, it’s important to pause. Take some time to reflect and assess where you’re at in relation to your goals, values, and vision.
What habits or patterns no longer serve me? How can I start letting them go to create space for new possibilities?
Get Clear
Setting your intention is half the work. Identify what really matters, what you want your life to look like and, importantly, how it would feel when you make those changes.
How can I simplify my life this season to make more room for the things that truly matter?
What areas of my life feel ready for growth or change? List three goals or intentions I want to focus on this season.
Get Moving
Now that you’re clear on your direction, it’s time to put it into action. Don’t try to tackle everything at once. Break your goals down into smaller, manageable steps, and commit to one action each day.
What are three things I want to accomplish by the end of this season, and what resources or support do I need to achieve them?
What small, actionable steps can I take today to begin moving toward my long-term goals?
By following these simple steps, you’ll gain more clarity, focus, and momentum as you move toward your goals. Remember, it’s all about progress, not perfection—one small step at a time will lead to lasting change.
