Sheena is a qualified Naturopath, Nutritionist and Yoga Teacher with 18 year’s experience, who loves what she does and embodies health.
Gastric issues led Sheena to natural healthcare after a naturopath gave her a hideous diet and supplements for a month and solved the problem that she had previously been told needed medication for life! She never needed that medication again. Hence one area of interest is the digestive system and liver, as well as skin disorders, weight loss, stress, insomnia, menopause. She enjoys working with mothers in particular, because of the wide reach they have on improving others’ lives.
Sheena’s philosophy is to reawaken the body’s inherent vitality by using the gifts nature has provided. Treatment may consist of taking herbal medicine, supplements, exercise recommendations or lifestyle changes. Improving your health almost always involves dietary changes. Your diet will be tailored just for you, to help remove whatever it is that’s causing your problems.
Sheena strives to guide people through the clutter of contradictory advice available on health with simple, practical solutions. Her aim is to give control back to her patients, who often feel they have lost ownership of their condition.
Functional testing may be suggested to avoid the scattergun approach and discover what’s really causing your issue.
She has worked alongside doctors including Drs. Giselle Cooke and Orla Teahan, not to mention the wonderful chiropractors at Beyond Self and many other highly respected clinics over the years.
Sheena is a published author of The Weekday Diet (Penguin) which started her passion for helping her patients lose weight. She has helped her patients lose almost 11,545 kilos in weight over the last few years.
In her spare time, she swims Manly to Shelley Beach and back 4 times a week, sings and plays in a band, is a self-confessed food critic of as many restaurants as she can fit into a week, lover of yoga, & travels to exotic places when allowed out of the country, (think Cuba, Amazon, Dominican Republic, Bhutan and Borneo).online booking
